Privacy Policy

How LaunchWithCursor and the QA Tester Chrome extension collect, use, and protect your data.

Effective date: September 15, 2026

LaunchWithCursor (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates launchwithcursor.com and related services, including the LaunchWithCursor QA Tester Chrome extension. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have.

Questions? Email [email protected] or use our Support page.

Who this policy covers

  • Founders and builders who use the LaunchWithCursor web app, VS Code/Cursor extension, deploy tools, and wallet.
  • Certified QA testers who use the LaunchWithCursor QA Tester Chrome extension and tester hub.
  • Visitors to our marketing site and knowledgebase.

If you use LaunchWithCursor on behalf of an organization, your org admin may control certain workspace data and export/deletion options under Settings → AI & privacy.

Information we collect

Account and profile data

When you sign up or sign in, we collect information needed to operate your account, such as:

  • Name and email address (from Google or GitHub sign-in, or magic-link email)
  • Profile details you provide (for example tester bio or public handle)
  • Organization membership, roles, and access status (founder, tester, admin)

We use OAuth providers (Google, GitHub) for authentication. We receive the profile fields those providers share with us; we do not receive your OAuth password.

Platform usage data

When you use LaunchWithCursor, we process data needed to deliver the product, including:

  • Projects, specs, deploy settings, and wallet transactions
  • QA testing requests, quotes, assignments, test results, and delivered reports
  • Support messages, consultation bookings, and in-product chat threads
  • Audit and security logs (for example sign-in events and admin actions)

QA Tester Chrome extension

The extension is for approved manual testers only. When you use it, we process:

DataWhere it livesWhy
Bearer token (session credential)Stored locally in Chrome (chrome.storage.local) on your deviceKeeps you signed in to the extension
Assignment and test dataLaunchWithCursor servers via api.launchwithcursor.comLoads projects, test cases, payouts, and chat
Defect reportsLaunchWithCursor serversTitle, description, severity, priority, page URL, optional Network/Console notes
ScreenshotsLaunchWithCursor secure object storageAttached to defects you submit while testing
Chat messagesLaunchWithCursor serversTeam coordination on an assignment
Active tab URLSent with defect reports when you submitShows which page had the issue

The extension reads the current tab URL (and optionally page title) only in connection with QA work. It does not collect your general browsing history, sell browsing data, or track you across unrelated websites.

Screenshots capture only the visible area of the active browser tab when you submit a defect. Restricted Chrome pages (such as chrome:// URLs) cannot be captured.

Payment and billing

If you purchase founder access, tester certification, hosting, domains, or QA services, payment is processed by our payment partners. We store transaction records and wallet balances; we do not store full card numbers on LaunchWithCursor servers.

Cookies and local storage (website)

The LaunchWithCursor website stores session tokens and preferences in your browser (for example localStorage) so you stay signed in. We use essential cookies/storage for authentication and core functionality.

How we use information

We use collected information to:

  • Provide, secure, and improve LaunchWithCursor services
  • Assign QA testers, generate test suites, deliver reports, and process tester payouts
  • Communicate with you about your account, assignments, and support requests
  • Detect abuse, fraud, and violations of our policies
  • Comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your personal information.

How we share information

We share data only as needed to run the service:

  • Founders and testers on the same QA engagement — testers see project context and staging URLs; founders see structured findings and tester ratings. Founders and testers do not receive each other’s personal contact details through the QA workflow.
  • Service providers — hosting, email, payment processing, object storage (for example screenshots), and AI inference providers that process data on our behalf under contract.
  • Legal requirements — when required by law or to protect rights, safety, and security.

We may share aggregated or de-identified statistics that cannot reasonably identify you.

Data retention

We retain account and project data while your account is active and as needed to provide the service, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and meet legal requirements.

QA findings, screenshots, and chat related to a completed engagement may be retained so founders can fix issues and we can operate the QA program. Org admins can export org data from Settings → AI & privacy; org deletion removes the organization and associated workspace data subject to backup and legal retention limits.

When you remove the Chrome extension, the auth token stored locally on your device is deleted with the extension’s local storage. Server-side data already submitted (findings, screenshots, messages) remains according to the retention rules above unless deleted through account or org deletion processes.

Security

We use industry-standard measures including encrypted transport (HTTPS/TLS), access controls, and hashed credentials where applicable. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; please use a strong account and keep your Bearer token confidential.

Your choices and rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export personal data, or to object to certain processing.

  • Account data: Contact [email protected] with the email address on your account.
  • Organization data: Org owners/admins can export or delete an organization from Settings → AI & privacy in the web app.
  • Extension auth: Clear the token in the extension or uninstall the extension to remove local credentials.
  • Marketing email: Use unsubscribe links where provided, or email us to opt out of non-essential communications.

We will verify requests before acting on them.

Children

LaunchWithCursor is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

International users

LaunchWithCursor is operated from Nigeria. If you use the service from other regions, your information may be processed in Nigeria and where our service providers operate. By using the service, you understand your data may be transferred to jurisdictions with different data-protection laws.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the revised version on this page and update the effective date. Continued use of LaunchWithCursor after changes means you accept the updated policy.
